Sleck Dust
Sleck Dust
Our original (and most popular) beer! Sleck Dust is a straw-coloured, easy-drinking session ale. There’s a unique floral edge here that you won’t find in most beers, coming directly from a precise, closely guarded blend of Pilgrim and Northern Brewer hops.
Behind the name
“Sleck the Dust” means “Quench the Thirst” — something Yorkshire farmers would get from riding around in combine harvesters before cabs or an AC. Dusty work is thirsty work, and nothing helps with that like a nice pint at the day’s end!
Available In: Bottles, Casks, Minicasks, and Polypins
| ABV: 3.8% | Type: Blonde Beer |
| Try with: Spicy curries, fish | Fans will like: Tyto Alba, Yan Tan Tethera, Cold Snap, Maillot Jaune |

Pricky Back Otchan
Pricky Back Otchan
Maths Question: What do you get by adding crystal malt to British, German, and American hops? An easy-going golden ale, of course! Otchan’s a wonderfully robust beer with a beautiful depth of smooth, malt flavour, as well as just a hint of sweet citrus on the nose. Our second ever beer, and a fan favourite to this day!
Behind the name
Yorkshire dialect for a hedgehog – ‘Pricky Backed Urchin’. Not to be confused with a ‘Quill Covered Gander’ (a Goose) or a ‘Speedy Mango Lambo’ (a Lamborghini).
Available In: Bottles, Casks, Minicasks, and Polypins
| ABV: 4.2% ale | Type: Golden Ale |
| Try with: Burgers, Pies | Fans will like: Sleck Dust, Fine Fettle |

Frothingham Best
Frothingham Best
Our classic best bitter! This moderately bittered dark ale features aromas of raisins & hazelnuts, a slightly malty base, and resin hop and peach fruit tones for a perfect finish. Named “World’s Best Pale Bitter up to 4.5%” at the 2020 World Beer Awards, following its “World’s Best Bitter under 5%” win in 2013.
Behind the name
South Frodingham, the home of our brewery, was historically known as Frothingham after the village’s main family. With a name like that, brewing was inevitable!
Available In: Bottles, Casks, Minicasks, and Polypins
| ABV: 4.3% | Type: Best Bitter |
| Try with: Pasta dishes, Sunday Roast | Fans will like: The Chairman, Pricky Back Otchan, Pigs Ear |

Holderness Dark
Holderness Dark
A stronger, modern version of the mild that was once the country’s staple beer. Deep chestnut with aromas of sweet toffee and grassy hops. H.D has a fantastic chestnut colour, with aromas of sweet toffee and grassy hops. Sweet chocolate malt and hazelnut flavours top it all off for a satisfying finish.
Behind the name
The rich soils of Holderness are perfect conditions for us to grow our malting barley. Because we needed a lot of malt to brew a darker beer like this, the name just seemed obvious!
Available In: Bottles, Casks, Minicasks, and Polypins
| ABV: 4.3% | Type: Mild |
| Try with: Burgers, Fried Rice | Fans will like: Liquorice Lads Stout |
