Fusing old and new can create great things – and our beautifully crafted beers are one of the happiest results of bringing together the best of both.
From blonde and golden to dark and stout, our cask and bottled beers are deeply satisfying and easy to drink.
Producing them at our farm brewery – which we set up in 2007 – we remain faithful to our local markets while penetrating many other parts of the UK and also gaining export trade.
We keep alive the traditions of the East Yorkshire countryside where our family has farmed for four generations and our homegrown malting barley thrives in the rich Holderness soil.
Add the choicest whole hops, our own distinctive strain of yeast and good Yorkshire water, and we have all we need for some wonderful brews.
We’ve given them names inspired by nature and local history, which you’ll enjoy learning about, such as Pricky Back Otchan, dialect for hedgehog; Sleck Dust, which is how you quench your thirst after a hard day’s work; or newcomer Stoggy, the local name for wood pigeons.
Long-standing favourites include World Beer Award winner Frothingham Best and Jem’s Stout, in memory of the family’s much loved Springer Spaniel who lives on as our brewery mascot.
As well as our core range, which is available all year round, we produce seasonal and celebratory beers to suite every palate.
We are proud of where we live and work and our sustainable business model extends to environmental initiatives such as hedgerow planting and playing a full part in community life.
Matthew Hodgson and his family made the decision to enter the industry only after extensive research over a number of years and the brewery and arable farm now sit together as successful forward thinking modern businesses.
