New Brewery Expansion Begins | Great Newsome Brewery
Work has commenced on an expansion project which will see the installation of a brand new brewery, doubling the capacity currently available. The project which will see the conversion of a 2200 square feet building adjacent to the current brew house which will house all brewery operations.
Work is well underway installing the new flooring and drainage with the installation of a new 20brl Moeschle brewery to commence later in the summer. The building will house the new brewery, cold room with conditioning tanks, dedicated cask washing area, steam boiler and a purpose built van loading dock to reduce manual handling of heavy casks. The work has been part funded by European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development, support by Lloyds and is the biggest investment the company has made in its 13 year history.
Matthew Hodgson director of Great Newsome Brewery highlighted why the company is making this investment, “The brewery has seen significant growth over the last few years which means that at peak times we have found it a challenge to produce enough beer. This expansion will double our capacity and help us maintain the quality of the beer that our customers have come to expect”. He also added ” It will also be a much nicer place for our team to work, with less manual handling and much more work space. This will mean that they will be able to spend more time creating great tasting beer”.
The new brewery is expected to be completed later in 2019.
