The first part of this partnership was by holding a beer tasting with supporters at last weekend’s clash with London Broncos.
The new beer is expected to hit the shelves in December and will be sold from Hull KR’s new retail and ticketing destination store at KCOM Craven Park for supporters to take away, as well as from the bars and concourses inside the ground on match days.
Great Newsome Brewery and Hull KR are also exploring options to distribute the brew via local bars and retailers.

The initial stage, to gauge supporters opinions to help shape and influence the final taste of the beer took place at Saturday’s game against the Broncos in the Super 8s Qualifiers. Feedback and votes are to be used to determine the final style of brew that will be produced.
Matthew Hodgson, Director at Great Newsome Brewery, added: “We’re really excited to form this agreement within another leading brand within East Riding. One of our core values is to support other local businesses as much as possible, we always try to use local suppliers for example, so we can produce beautifully crafted beer that everyone in East Yorkshire can be proud of.
“Hearing what the fans think to the different options at Saturday’s game helps when we come back to the brewery so that we can craft something everyone will love. Once the product is ready we’ll then speak to our growing portfolio of stockists and distribution network about it, so as many people as possible can toast to the future success of Hull Kingston Rovers.”

Hull KR’s Head of Marketing, Ticketing and Retail, Craig Franklin, said: “This is a really exciting project for the club and something that we’ve been planning for a number of months now having approached Great Newsome Brewery. There promises to be some major benefits for supporters and the club once we are in a position to launch towards the end of the year.
“Big Listen feedback has told us fans would like to see a bigger selection of beers available on a match day with an emphasis towards local and craft ales, and this new Hull KR beer will add to that growing selection.
“However, the really exciting part of this project is the opportunities it presents to get the brand of Hull Kingston Rovers out into local bars, pubs and retailers to potentially create a new 365-days-a-year revenue stream.
“We know there is a groundswell of support for the club in the city and East Riding, many of which for various reasons only attend limited games. It’s about engaging with those groups and allowing them to have an association with the club, both at KCOM Craven Park and even from home whilst watching the game on TV, for example.
“Crucially, these markets also tend to be within the difficult to reach 18-30 age group. We are therefore working on branding for the beer that will resonate with these markets first and foremost whilst paying homage to the rich heritage and history of the club.”
