Great Newsome Brewery Festivale 2020
*Drumroll* We’re delighted to announce that this year’s Festivale will be held on the 19th and 20th of June — that’s the Friday and Saturday. Last year over 800 of you visited Great Newsome Brewery to enjoy the music, food, and beer with us, so we’re be doing it all over again!
What’s the Festivale?
In case this is all news to you, here’s a bit of a rundown.
The Festivale is our (Great Newsome Brewery’s) annual Yorkshire beer festival. It’s like a tapestry of everything we love about our local area, including:
- A Massive Range of our Craft Beer
- Fantastic Local Food
- The Best in Yorkshire’s Live Music
- Tours of our Newly-Upgraded Craft Brewery
- Craft Cider
- Camping in the Countryside
- Gin and Prosecco Bar (New for 2020)
- Wine and Soft Drinks
- Sandpit and Games for Children (and Grown-Ups)
We’ll then go and donate a large portion of the proceeds to charity. Our charity for this year is the Daniel Wilkinson Foundation; this is an amazing, heartwarming, and local charity devoted to preventing sudden cardiac death in young people. Last year’s charity was Yorkshire Air Ambulance, for which we raised over £3500.
What’s new for 2020?
The biggest thing we’re changing this year is the location. The Festivale has drawn more and more people every year, and we’ve decided that we need more space! We’re simply moving everything into the adjacent grass field, meaning there’ll be enough space for everyone. There’s also much more camping and parking space this time around.
This year also marks the first time we’re having music on both days. Friday will feature live music from singer-songwriter Diddie Hair, and will run from 7pm to 10pm. Saturday will still be the ‘main day’ of the Festivale, with music running from 1 PM until 10 PM.
As mentioned, we will also have a gin and prosecco bar for those of you who prefer something a little different from beer and cider.
Where can we buy tickets?
Tickets are now on sale at Ticket Source. Alternatively, you can call the office on 01964 612201 and pay over the phone. We’ll also be selling tickets on the day, but these will be subject to availability.
Adult tickets are priced at £5.00 on the Friday and £10.00 for the Saturday, with a weekend saver ticket available for £12.50. Under 18’s can enter free of charge, but require an ‘Under 18’ ticket.
All adult tickets include a free pint of Great Newsome beer. This is a Yorkshire Beer Festival after all 😉
Will there be camping?
Yes! We will be offering camping, caravan and campervan pitches for both the Friday and the Saturday night. Tickets are on sale for camping via Ticket Source or by calling the office on 01964 612201. We strongly recommend booking your camping spot ahead of time!
Can we bring dogs to the Festivale?
Yes! Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times.
Can we bring our own food and drink?
For safety reasons, we must ask that you don’t bring your own alcohol or glass bottles. We’ll be serving our own beer (£2.90/pint), as well as soft drinks and wine. To top it all off, we’ll also be providing a gin bar this year!
We’ll be providing a selection of delicious street food vendors, including:
You are also welcome to bring along a picnic; we simply ask that you tidy away your rubbish.
We’ll announce the remaining music acts through our social media over the coming weeks. Here’s who we’ve confirmed so far:
- Glamstarr – 70s Glam-Rock band
- Kinda Queen – Queen tribute band
- Diddie Hair – Hull-based Singer-Songwriter
Need to know more? Drop us an email and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible. Cheers!
